This poem reminds me of my secondary school. A Samad Said is one of my favourite Malaysian poet, i admired him because what he wrote really can touched people's heart."The Dead Crow", i studied this poem when i was in Form 2. He highlighted about pollution and environment. What A Samad Said did is totally correct about Malaysian's manner. They love creating mess and throw up rubbish everywhere.
Once, i was on the road driving a car. suddenly, a car in front of me throwing plastic bottle through out the window and it almost hit one of the motorcyclist who passed the roads too. i got irritated with this type of people, where is your manner? Don't you know that you are not allowed to throw away your rubbish out of your window? please at least keep them in your hand, plastics or car and then later on put it into the dustbins. is that hard to do so? This is the most critical attitude by Malaysian from my views.
Lets go back to the poem, A Samad Said is calling us Malaysian to take care of our environment. health report in Malaysia had proved that Malaysian are the top 10, the dirties country in the world. so the writers come out with this poem, the language is very easy to understand so that people who read this does not have problems understanding what is the writer trying to say. He is not pointing this just to Malaysian citizen, but also to the government and also politician to take action towards people who did bad to the environment. He feels frustrated with the pollution and also human's behaviour who contributed to pollution.
Why should we suffer like this?
